All in good time.

Why a waiting list?
  • Each piece is hand-assembled in Burlington, Vermont with a focus on quality, precision, and longevity.
  • The Present is designed to last for decades, not years.
  • That kind of integrity takes time and limits how many we can responsibly make at once.
How long must I wait?
  • After you join, you’ll receive a few emails over time introducing you to The Present.
  • When your name comes up, you’ll receive a private offer with a 72-hour window to purchase.
  • If you miss your window, you’ll return to the back of the list.
I want to order 12 or more. Who do I speak to?
  • For bulk orders, corporate gifting, or special collaborations, email us at
  • gifting@thepresent.is.
  • We’ll work with you directly to coordinate a timeline and ensure each piece arrives ready to make a lasting impression.
Have you really made and shipped 10,000 of these timepieces?
  • Yes.
  • Since 2012, more than 10,000 timepieces have been made by hand and shipped to owners in 43 countries — most assembled by the artist, Scott Thrift.
  • The original pieces from 2012 are still in daily use.
  • If anything ever goes wrong, you can send your timepiece back to our studio for refurbishment.
