A reflection no one has seen.

A reflection no one has seen.

Picture yourself walking barefoot on the shore at night as a wave recedes and the moon is reflected in the wet sand.

In that exact same way, in the image below, the full moon is reflecting on the Atlantic Ocean.

Moon reflecting on the Atlantic Ocean

The sun is behind the earth in this image and it is lit by the light of the full moon, which means, you can see the moon itself reflecting on the ocean.

Do you see what I mean?

Full moon ocean view

Isn't that amazing?

I shared this image from the Artemis II voyage last month but the fact that the ocean is reflecting the full moon wasn't confirmed until recently.

It's a little easier to see in video form. You can find a link to the video where this is revealed at the end of this letter.

Now.

Seeing something no one has ever seen before (the moon reflected in the Atlantic Ocean) is enough for one full moon update, but I wanted to share one more thing.

Last month we learned about Professor Yoshimura already owning The Present.

Professor Yoshimura with The Present

On May 14th, my partner Ssong and I visited him in Nagoya, Japan.

A student of his gave him The Present as a gift, many years ago.

He shared two reasons why he loves it:

ONE: When he needs to step back from the day-to-day he will glance at The Present and it helps him shift his head space to the long term.

TWO: Each cardinal point matches a different birthday of someone in his family.

He was also kind enough to give me the floor for a brief presentation to his class about why I make The Present.

Presentation to class

We presented him with the version that will be displayed somewhere here in the common area of his Institute for Transformative Bio-Molecules (ITbM).

The Present in Public

Next week we're installing The Present at a childhood development center in Seoul, Korea.

Do you know of a public place where it belongs?

Hit reply and let me know.
